The Associated Press reported today that an order has been issued by the highest military command in North Korea that they can now begin with “merciless” military strikes against the United States. Even with the U.S. selling an additional 60 F-15 fighter aircraft to South Korea and moving a Terminal High Altitude Area (missile) Defense system into Guam, the North Korean government seems resolved to antagonize the government of South Korea and the United States pressing for war.
The F-15s will be equipped with sniper locating equipment and advanced radar systems. Trucks being supplied to South Korea will be equipped with Mine Resistant Ambush Protection. B-1 bomber pilots stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas are practicing for long distance flying missions.
According to some defense experts, all of the threats thus far have been mere saber rattling. There are those, however, who fear that the neophyte dictator of North Korea may be pushed by his own overly inflated ego to put up or shut up and if so, he will more than rattle a saber, he may affect the first blow; re-igniting the war that fought to a cease-fire sixty years ago.
